As part of his Spring Budget, the chancellor Jeremy Hunt has scrapped the Pension lifetime allowance. The lifetime allowance, due to remain at £1.073m up to and including the 2025/26 tax year, will now have no upper limit.
The chancellor also announced today that the annual allowance would increase from £40,000 to £60,000.
